FTC Florida News - October 21, 2010

Post by Admin on Fri Oct 22, 2010 11:01 am

Hello Teams,

Topics in this email include:

1. Qualifying Tournament Registration
2. Team Duct Tape's Halloween Primal Fear Experience for Charity
3. Video Judging Submission Deadlines [Repeat Announcement]
4. Build-it Day at Middleton High School in Tampa - October 23, 2010 [Repeat Announcement]

----------------
1. Qualifying Tournament Registration

- The tournaments listed below are now open for all teams, even teams that are already registered for 3-tournaments. If your team would like to attend one of the following three events; send an email to Michael.Coleman@flfirst.org with your request and I will manually enter your team into the database. These tournaments have lots of open capacity that I would like to fill. As the registrations currently stand, teams attending these tournaments are competing against half the number of teams attending the late season tournaments.

11/06/2010 - Lyman High School in Longwood
11/13/2010 - Hillsborough High School in Tampa
11/20/2010 - Miami Coral Park Senior High School in Miami

- This is the first year we have used an online database for registration and I want to verify that the registrations are correct before I send the final team lists to the Tournament Hosts. Please take a minute right now and verify that your team is registered at the correct tournaments by visiting this web page: www.flfirst.org/Florida_First_Tech_Challenge/TournamentQuery.php

----------------
2. Team Duct Tape's Halloween Primal Fear Experience for Charity

Team 2845, Team Duct Tape, invites Tampa Bay area teams, and their friends and family to join us for a charity Halloween Haunting in Odessa, in NW Hillsborough county, on Saturday, October 30. Enjoy five acres of outdoor Halloween fun, with our Primal Fear maze experience for ages 12+, and hay rides, a bonfire (for marshmallow roasting and smores!), stories, snacks and refreshments for all ages. Admission is $5, with all proceeds benefiting Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. RSVPs not necessary, but logistically helpful. Drop us a line at willinghamster@gmail.com if you plan to join us or have questions. See attached flyer for time and location. All are welcome!
