Hello Teams,

4. FTC Demonstration at Lockheed Martin in Orlando
5. FTC Demonstration at the Tampa Bay Engineering Week Banquet
------------------------
1. FTC Florida Championship
The FTC Florida Championship was held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach on February 12, 2011. Twenty-eight of the top teams in Florida plus a team from Alabama played the Get Over It! game, toured the Embry-Riddle engineering labs, and enjoyed robot demonstrations by the Embry-Riddle robotics club. Photos from the FTC Florida Championship are posted here: www.flickr.com/photos/geared2learn/

Three teams earned invitations to represent Florida at the FTC World Championship held in St. Louis, Missouri. Congratulations to:
1369, Minotaur (Inspire Award)
3123, Spontaneous Combustion (Alliance Captain of the Winning Alliance)
506, Pandara (1st Team selected on the Winning Alliance)

Complete tournament results are located here: www.flfirst.org/Florida_First_Tech_Challenge/Tournament_Results_2010-11.html

2. Team Videos
Links to team created videos are in the attached file. Please leave your team's video online for a few months for others to watch.

Videos with the following qualities were the most helpful to judges:
- Contained information about the robot, prototyping, design methodology, etc.
- Highlighted how the team meets the requirements for the award(s) as they are described in the Get Over It! game manual.
- Showed what is special about the team.
- Entertaining videos are appreciated.

------------------------
3. 2011-2012 Qualification Tournaments
I would like to determine dates and locations for next season's qualifying tournaments prior to the start of summer break. Please let me know if your team would like to host a qualifying tournament next season.

------------------------
4. FTC Demonstration at Lockheed Martin in Orlando
FTC teams helped Lockheed Martin in Orlando celebrate Engineering Week on February 24th. Seven teams had one more chance to "Get Over It!" and share their robots with some of the highest tech workers in the nation. Lockheed Martin invited everyone to fly their Apache helicopter and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter simulations during a facility tour. These teams will be ready if FIRST rolls out an arial FTC game.

A huge thank you to the following teams for participating in this event:

1369 Minotaur
1902 Exploding Bacon
2425 Hydra Robotics
3045 Build And Dangerous (B.A.D.)
3846 Aionios Tyfonas
4228 Gears Of Other Dimensions (G.O.O.D.)
4469 Hydra Robotics
------------------------
5. FTC Demonstration at the Tampa Bay Engineering Week Banquet
The Director of the FTC Program, Ken Johnson, was the keynote speaker at the Tampa Bay Engineering Week Banquet. Mr. Johnson's challenged engineers to save the world by sharing their time and talents with FIRST robotics teams. FTC teams 1369 Minotaur and 2845 Team Duct tape staffed a FIRST display and wowed the engineers with their skills and robots.
