2. Community Outreach Events
3. Team Guide to League Play
4. Free PTC Creo 3D Modeling, Mathcad, ProjectLink, the Design Process, and online training resources workshop [Repeated topic from the September 6, 2012 email.]

Attachments: League Assignments (contact Michael Coleman for a copy, if needed)

------------
1. League Assignments

The Florida FTC Affiliate Partner has assigned teams to Leagues based on their location. In general, teams are assigned to a League within their county. Teams located in counties with an insufficient number of teams to form a League, are assigned to a nearby League. The team list was created from the results of a query to the FIRST team database and direct contact with a few FTC teams that haven't completed their registration with FIRST. The public database query into the FIRST database contains the same list of teams that I see. You can view the list of teams on this web page: www.usfirst.org/whatsgoingon If your team doesn't appear in the public view of the FTC team list, I can't see your team either. If you believe that you have registered with FIRST, but your team doesn't appear on the team list. Log into the FIRST TIMS system (https://my.usfirst.org/ftc/tims/site.lasso) and verify that the status for all of the required fields shows a "green check." Next, go ahead and click on the link to pay the registration fee. This final step is sometimes needed to cause teams to appear in the database. You don't have to pay the registration fee at this time, just clicking on the link seems to set a flag in the database that makes a team visible in the database.

If your team doesn't appear in the list contained in the attached document, you need to immediately register with FIRST and send an email to michael.coleman@flfirst.org that contains the following information:

Team Number
Team Name
Team Home City
Team Home County

Michael Coleman is still the go to person for general questions about the Florida FTC program. League and event questions should be directed directly to League Committees.

Your League Committee should contact you shortly.

2. Community Outreach Events

There are several events going on between now and the end of the year that we hope you'll consider participating in, either with a full team, or with a few students. All of these events provide stellar opportunities for teams to:

- Hone their FIRST elevator speeches ("We like FIRST because..." or "FIRST has helped us..." or "FTC is about...")
- Practice good interview skills - useful for judges’ visits at events!
- Recruit mentors and sponsors
- Showcase their achievements
- Have fun reconnecting with other teams
