Hello Teams,

As always, please share this email with everyone on your team.

Please write to Michael Coleman at for these Attachments if you need copies: Team Duct Tape Guess the Game Flyer, Lunch Menu for Kickoff, Rockwell Collins Grant Application, FIRST Consent and Release Form, ROBOCON Flyer, List of Teams

Topics in this email include:

1. Season Kickoff Celebration, September 7th
2. FTC 2845, Team Duct Tape, Guess the FTC Game for Fun and Prizes
3. Rockwell Collins Grant Application Process
4. League Play
6. FTC Florida Championship
7. FIRST Outreach Opportunities

1. Season Kickoff Celebration, September 7th

Registration: It is a huge help when teams let us know they are attending the Kickoff Celebration by submitting an online registration request through the Florida FTC event registration system. Login credentials (passwords) will be emailed to the main and alternate contacts for every team that has registered with FIRST. The team contacts contained in the attached team list will receive their login credentials via email within a few days. Teams that register with FIRST after the login credentials have been emailed to teams will receive their login credentials after they have been manually entered into the registration system; a process that may take several days. Veteran teams that aren't listed in the attached team list, need to register with FIRST as soon as possible so that Leagues have the information they need to plan their seasons. Paying the team registration fee to FIRST is not a requirement to register for the Florida FTC Kickoff.

As a thank you, teams that register for the kickoff event on the website will receive one free game element and rookie teams will also receive a terrific book that help them navigate through their first season. Attendance is required to receive the thank you gifts.

Consent and Release Forms: Teams attending all official events are required to present evidence that the students and mentors attending the event have been approved by the online FIRST Consent and Release System. Print the team roster from the FIRST Team Information Management System (TIMS) where you registered your team and turn it in at the check-in table. Everyone on the roster that is noted as approved doesn't have to complete a paper Consent and Release form. Students, Mentors, and Coaches that are not shown as approved on the official team roster are required to turn in a completed paper copy of the Consent and Release Form. A copy of this form is an email attachment.

Address: Middleton Magnet High School, 4801 N. 22nd St., Tampa, FL 33610

The information below is from an earlier team email blast. It is repeated below for completeness:

4. League Play

ROBOCON Tampa Bay will be held Oct. 26 & 27, 2013 at the University of Tampa. All the relevant information is at the website: - The event organizers are planning on holding workshops Saturday morning, and FTC scrimmages in the afternoon, with a tentative "Scrimmage in the Dark," as well.
